Our Primary Sacrament Presentation is next Sunday 11/08. We learned My Eternal Family song using actions mostly sign language. The Primary President is saying the children can not use the actions because it is against the General Primary Presidency Policy. Has anyone heard of this?

Hi Nita - I've never heard of that. We have used sign language for our programs. Perhaps the Primary President can ask the Bishop. However, the Primary President is lovingly guiding the primary so I'd follow her lead!

I'm the primary president in my ward and I have NEVER heard of this... We actually did sign language in our program last year and I have seen it done many other times in other wards... I say GO FOR IT

When I was primary chorister a couple of years ago, the church itself put out a dvd on which many of the songs for the Primary program were done in sign language, making it easy for me to learn and then teach the children. I bought it from the Church Distribution Center. If there's a new rule, I don't know about it. Ask your President if she'd mind showing you the Policy she's referring to. Then you can see if she's misunderstanding something or if there is indeed a new guideline. Good luck! (Our ward did our program last week (11.8.09) and did sign language on one song and a couple of simple actions in a couple of others, with no one telling them it wasn't okay.)

Hi Karen,
I am also new to the primary chorister thing, but I found on lds.org a connection to the new song. On the home page go to the serving in the church, then to the primary one, click on the 2010 outline for sharing time, then click on the 2010 music for sharing time and sacrament meeting presentation, the song is in the list that pulls up and you can listen to it on your windows media player. Hope this helps.

Greetings!
Does anyone have a copy of the story A Crocodile Doesn't Go to Sunday School? I bought it in Salt Lake City at Deseret Book nearly 40 years ago with felt family and animals. Mother reminds her child turning 3 that Sunday will be the big day to begin attending "Sunday School" before the block schedule merged week day Primary and Sunday School together as Primary on Sunday. The mother took her child to the zoo as the child asked why monkeys, alligators (or crocodile not certain), and marmalade lions do not go to Sunday School -- each has a behavior problem so the child learned worshipful behavior for Sunday School. I have the felt figures but lost the story. Can anyone with a copy email it to me? Thanks. :-)

Could we start a page for Primary Singing time geared more towards the 9-12 age range? I am having a hard time finding/thinking up activities for the Senior Primary. I feel like pretty much everything is so geared towards the Juniors. I have bought several books, etc. from Deseret Book and the ideas are just so young. If anyone has any ideas please share them. Thanks so much!

Many Music leaders have Sr. Primaries and they have given up on the books that seem too young.

I am looking for the sheet music to or the author of the song on the 2012 Choose the Right album called, "Meek and Lowly of Heart". I really loved it and wondered if our primary kids could learn it, but I need the music. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks for any help.

I finally found a copy. I purchased and downloaded copy from Deseret Book online and printed it from my computer. Took a bit of searching to find it on their site.
